Connecting
Denon devices speak StageLinQ, the same interface Engine DJ and SoundSwitch use. The device must be in the same network as the computer, by cable or Wi-Fi.
Connect the device by cable to the switch or router (recommended), or join both to the same Wi-Fi.
Close Engine DJ, SoundSwitch and other StageLinQ programs on the computer that runs LJ Link.
Search automatically. The device appears with all its decks; the first time LJ Link loads its library, which can take a moment.
What you get
- Real fader positions in the blue bar (Pioneer cannot do that). EQ is not sent.
- Exact position of every deck.
- Waveform with beat grid, bar starts, hot cues and loops from the Engine library on the device’s drive or card, loaded once. It has overview resolution; the detail view is smoothed from it.
- Covers only if the library stores them.
Problems
The device is not found
- Same network? Check the addresses (basics).
- Engine DJ or SoundSwitch open on this computer? Close them, they use the same port.
- Guest Wi-Fi or a mesh repeater? Use cable.
It keeps reconnecting
Update to LJ Link 1.3.1 or newer. After a broken connection the device needs a few seconds before it accepts a new one; that is normal.
No waveform for a track
The track must be analysed in Engine DJ or on the device. Tracks from streaming services have no stored waveform.
