Guide · Denon DJ / Engine DJDenon StageLinQ for lighting
Use the Denon DJ Prime 4+, Prime 4, Prime Go or SC6000 with your lighting: waveforms, position and real fader positions over StageLinQ, and the BPM to grandMA2, grandMA3 or Daslight.
What LJ Link reads over StageLinQ
Denon DJ players share their state on the network with StageLinQ. LJ Link listens and shows it to the lightjockey – passively, it never changes anything on the device.
- Title, artist, BPM, pitch, play state and master.
- The exact play position.
- The real channel fader positions of the mixer section.
- The waveform with beat grid, bar starts and hot cues from the Engine library.

Which Denon devices work?
| Device | State |
|---|---|
| Denon Prime 4+ | tested (firmware 5.0.4): title, BPM, position, faders, waveform, beat grid, cues |
| Denon SC6000, Prime 4, Prime Go | expected to work (same protocol), not tested yet |
Denon waveforms have overview resolution; the detail view is smoothed from it. Loops on Denon are not verified yet.
Denon and Pioneer in one booth
Two DJs, one on a Prime 4+ and one on CDJs? One press of “Search automatically” finds both and shows them side by side. A device that joins later is added by itself. For the tempo, Auto takes the master that is also live and playing.
Denon BPM to grandMA and Daslight
The BPM of a Denon player goes to the desk exactly like that of a CDJ: over Telnet to grandMA2, over OSC to grandMA3, and as an OSC number to Daslight and other programs. The steps for each desk are in the grandMA guide.
Setup
- Connect the Denon player (LAN port) and the computer to the same network switch, Wi-Fi off.
- Install and start LJ Link.
- Press “Search automatically”. The Denon appears with its decks; the waveforms are read once from its library.
Questions
Does LJ Link change anything on my Denon?
No. It only listens over StageLinQ and sends no commands to the device.
Do I need Engine DJ on the computer?
No. LJ Link reads the library from the device over the network.
Does it show the Denon fader positions?
Yes. Denon devices report their real channel fader positions; Pioneer DJMs only report which channel is on air.
Does it work with the SC6000 or Prime Go?
They use the same StageLinQ protocol as the tested Prime 4+, so they are expected to work, but they are not tested yet.
Free for macOS and Windows
LJ Link is free and open source. Install it, press “Search automatically” and you are live.
